Step 1 - Manual Installation

What you need to know and do

You will need to perform this step if you are not using the web installer. If your download and support license has expired, you can still manually install Jomres from the jomres.zip file that you were able to download whilst your license was valid.

If you do not have shell (eg ssh) access to your server then you will need to extract the contents of the jomres.zip file locally and upload the files to your web server.

If you do have shell access then you will be able to upload the entire file to the root of your CMSs installation and enter "unzip jomres.zip" on the command line to extract it. Jomres will be extracted to a sub-directory under your root called 'jomres'.

Next go to the database installation phase where you'll run install_jomres.php. (Step 2 - Database installation )

Further information

This section of the guide assumes that you already have your CMS installed (Note, by default Jomres supports Joomla 1.5/2.5/3.0 but it is possible to modify the code to work on other CMSs.

It is important that the files be installed maintaining the existing directory structure. Place the files in /jomres/ into your /jomres/ folder on the server, so that the folder is directly under the root of your CMSs installation. If your directory structure is /var/www/html, then the files should be in /var/www/html/jomres.
