Multi-language sites

Note : Joomla 2.5 only, at the time of writing all lower versions of Joomla are no longer supported.

How you configure Jomres to use languages depends on your existing site configuration.

If you already have the site setup to work in multi-language mode, then you should not install or configure the jomres language dropdown or the language mambot.  If the site is configured properly to be multi-language, you have to disable the Jomres language dropdown and use the Joomla language dropdown to change languages in both Jomres and Joomla

If you don't have the site setup to work with multiple languages, you will need to :

  1. Install and enable the jomres_language_plugin_bot
  2. Disable the Joomla language filter
  3. Use the Jomres language dropdown to change the site language.

When using multiple languages, please make sure that for any selected language, the Joomla language pack is also available. So, for example if you want to select German in the Jomres language dropdown, you must have the de-DE Joomla language pack installed at least for the site frontend.

In the administrator area, if you want to use the Label Editing feature, you must first log into the administrator area in the language you want to translate strings to (you`ll need the Joomla admin language pack installed). Then, when you've done that you can use Label Translations to change the labels to suit your own requirements.
