Site Config - Paypal Settings
From Jomres v4 manual
General description
The Paypal settings feature allows you to set up your Paypal details at which you can receive payments for bookings and subscription made on your site. The settings you made here are used in 2 different circumstances: for subscriptions, and if 'Override standard Jomres gateway settings?' is set to 'Yes', then these details will be used as gateway settings in the frontend too (when paying for a booking), all other gateways like cheque or form being ignored (not showed as options at booking time and the gateways tab will no longer be available in property settings).
To use paypal you must go to your paypal account & disable Autoreturn. (in Profile/Website Payment Preferences), and set IPN (Profile/Instant Payment Notification Preferences) to Yes and the URL shown in bold in your Paypal Settings screen.
Setting up Paypal details
Click on the Paypal Settings button in your Jomres control panel and you`ll be taken to a new screen where you can enter the Paypal details.- Set the currency code in which you accept online payments. You have to use the official currency code and write it in CAPS. (Example: EUR, USD, GBP)
- Choose if you want to make some tests first using the paypal sandbox. If this setting is set to Yes, then all payments made using paypal sandbox are just for testing, no real money being involved. If you go online and want to really charge for subscriptions or bookings, make sure this setting is set to No.
- Enter your paypal email address at which you want to receive payments. This email address has to be the email that you use when signing in to your paypal account.
- Choose if you want to override standard Jomres gateway settings or not. If the paypal settings override option is set to Yes then several things happen:
- General Configuration no longer shows any gateway settings.
- When a booking is made the settings used here are used so that payment is sent to the address entered here, not that previously configured in General Configuration.
- Save the changes.
Final notes
If you run a portal and you want to offer each owner the possibility to set up his own paypal account to receive payments, then set 'override standard Jomres gateway settings' to No. So, the details you set up in Paypal Settings will be used only for subscriptions (if subscriptions are enabled). The owners will see the gateways tab in the frontend property settings and they can set up the paypal gateway as desired.
If you run a website and you want all payments for bookings and subscriptions to be made to your paypal account (this applies mostly to single property websites, websites where all properties belong to one owner, travel agency websites or intermediates websites), then set 'override standard Jomres gateway settings' to yes. The gateway settings in the frontend will not be shown and all payments will be made to the address you set up here.
