Show Profiles
From Jomres v4 manual
Contents |
General description
On the first page in Show Profiles you must use the input field to search for a user. Type in a valid username. Once a username is listed under the input field you need to click on that user. When you have you'll be taken to the next page where you can edit that manager's access level and properties they can edit.
When first installing Jomres, the administrator is automatically added as a Super Property Manager and is considered an authorised user, no matter the username or userid you use as Super Administrator of your CMS. (some users changed or renamed their 'admin' user to something else with a new username and usedid, for security reasons). If you install Jomres SA, then the user 'admin' is automatically created for you and Super Property Manager rights are assigned to it. Jomres has 3 frontend access levels that can be assigned to registered users. Users who`ve registered their property(s) themselves will be automatically assigned as Property Managers to those properties.
- Super Property Manager (highest level, has full frontend access to all properties and settings, even if the 'minimised configuration' option is set to Yes in Site Config)
- Property Manager (has full frontend access rights 'only' to the properties assigned to him)
- Reception (used for receptionist. They will have access only to booking options and invoices. A receptionist will 'not' have access to property settings like tariffs, general settings, property details, extras, coupons, etc)
All Jomres property configuration and management is done from the frontend. Users that have access rights to Jomres frontend administration will not also have access rights to CMS backend.
Usage
General details
When performing a fresh install, the Super Property Manager will have a green checkmark against it. The rest of the users will have a red X, meaning that they are not authorised to edit property settings from the frontend. The 'Show Profiles' screen includes a legend where you can see the signification of all icons. Non-property managers will have a Guest icon, property managers will have Reception/Property Manager/Super property manager icons.
Assigning Super Property Manager rights to a user
You can have more than one Super Property Manager in Jomres and they will have frontend access to all properties in the system. To assign Super Property Manager rights to a user, here is what you have to do.- Find the user you want to grant frontend access rights to in the registered users list and click on the 'Currently authorised'. If the current icon is a red X, then you`ll be taken to the next screen where you can edit the user rights. If the icon is already a green checkmark, then click on the 'Edit item' button on the next column.
- In the Edit Profile screen, select 'Property manager' from the 'Access level' dropdown.
- Select 'Yes' in the 'Super Property Manager' dropdown (default is 'No')
- Below you see the user API key. You can leave it as it is or generate a new one by clicking on the 'Make new API key' link.
- Check all the properties. You`ll also see a column next to each property name where all users that have access to that property are listed.
- Save the changes.
When returning to the Show Profiles screen, you`ll notice that the user you just edited has a green checkmark next to it and a Super Property Manager icon.
Assigning non-Super Property Manager rights to a user
You can have more Property Managers or Receptionists assigned to a property or more properties. They will have frontend administration rights only to properties that are assigned to them. Non-super property managers must be assigned to at least one property otherwise they will see an error when they try to log on and use Jomres.- Find the user you want to grant frontend access rights to in the registered users list and click on the 'Currently authorised' icon. If the current icon is a red X, then you`ll be taken to the next screen where you can edit the user rights. If the icon is already a green checkmark, then click on the 'Edit item' button on the next column.
- In the Edit Profile screen, select 'Property manager' or 'Reception' from the 'Access level' dropdown.
- Select 'No' in the 'Super Property Manager' dropdown (default is 'No')

- Check the property or properties that you want the user to have access to. You`ll also see a column next to each property name where all users that have access to that property are listed.
- Save the changes.
When returning to the Show Profiles screen, you`ll notice that the user you just edited has a green checkmark next to it and a Property Manager or Reception icon.
Final notes
All Jomres property configuration is done from frontend. Granting a registered user with any Jomres frontend access rights will 'not' automatically grant that user rights to the websites backend.
