Plugin Manager
From Jomres v4 manual
If you cannot see the plugin manager button then please ensure that CURL is enabled on your server. The Plugin Manager purpose is to allow users to download and install all optional plugins currently available to Jomres right in the component's control panel. This makes it easier for me to introduce new plugins and deploy upgrades, and for you to find new and upgraded plugins. The manager can download and install 4 different types of Jomres plugins:
- Internal plugins
- Minicomponents
- Modules (CMS specific, like search modules for Joomla 1.5)
- Plugins (CMS specific, like bot_jomres_bookingform for Joomla 1.5)
The Plugin Manager will list all currently available plugins. You can use it then to install/upgrade or remove the plugins of your choice, however some plugins like Modules, Plugins and Minicomponents can only be configured and uninstalled via the standard Mambo/Joomla configuration tools. All plugins can be upgraded direct from the Plugin Manager.
To understand Minicomponents and how they're different from Internal plugins, you need a little history lesson:
Since version 2 Jomres has the ability to upload and install plugins that modified the way Jomres worked as Joomla/Mambo components. These would be picked up by Jomres and used in place of/as well as the standard Jomres functionality. The were called minicomponents because they used the Joomla/Mambo component installer for the upload/unzipping/placing stage. Since then the Plugin Manager has been developed and most of the old Minicomponents have been converted to internal plugins. One or two though may be retained as Minicomponents because they're installed /jomres/remote_plugins folder and therefore aren't affected if you do an upgrade.
There is no seperate page with information on plugins, if you have a specific question regarding a plugin please raise a post in the Jomres.net forums at http://forum.jomres.net/ or refer to the plugin manager as that will contain a brief summary of the plugin.
