General description
Allows the administrator to add local events and attractions. Events are date specific so only 'future' events will be shown. Events and attractions are shown under the property details page. If the Extended Maps plugin is installed, then additionally events and attractions are listed in the google map.Obtaining the local_events plugin
This plugin can be purchased from the Jomres online shop. Upon completion of purchase, you can download the plugin packed as a zip file from your account.
Installation
The plugin can be installed using the Jomres plugin installer.
Usage
Two new buttons were created for you in the Jomres control panel after you successfully installed the local_events plugin: 'What to do locally' and 'What's happening?'.Creating a new local attraction
Click on the 'What to do locally' icon in your Jomres control panel and you`ll be taken to a new screen where you can see a list of all local attractions. If this is a fresh install, the list will be empty. After that, click on the 'New' icon and follow the next steps:
- Enter the attraction name (for example: Dracula`s Castle)
- Enter the latitude and longitude details of the attraction. You don't need to set the latitude or longitude if you're not also using the Extended Maps optional extra.
- Enter the full url to the web page that describes this attraction. This can be an external link or a link to a content item on your site. In any case, use the full url, without the http:// prefix.
- Enter the full path to the attraction logo/icon/image, without the http:// prefix. Leave this empty for none.
- Save the changes and you`ll be taken back to the previous screen, where you can see the newly created attraction in the list.
Editing a local attraction
To edit a local attraction, click on the 'What to do locally' button in your jomres control panel and after that click on the 'Edit' icon corresponding to the attraction you want to edit. When arriving to the next screen, make the necessary changes following the instructions provided for adding a new local attraction. Hit 'Save' to save changes or 'Cancel' to return to the local attractions list without saving the changes.
Deleting a local attraction
To delete a local attraction, click on the 'Edit' icon corresponding to the attraction you want to delete and when arriving to the next screen, click on the trash can icon.
Creating a new local event
Click on the 'What's happening?' icon in your Jomres control panel and you`ll be taken to a new screen where you can see a list of all local events. If this is a fresh install, the list will be empty. After that, click on the 'New' icon and follow the next steps:- Enter the event name (for example: Sanremo Festival)
- Select dates when the event starts and when the event ends. Only events that are in the future will be displayed on the property details page. Expired events (events that are in the past) will not be displayed.
- Enter the latitude and longitude details of the event. You don't need to set the latitude or longitude if you're not also using the Extended Maps optional extra.
- Enter the full url to the web page that describes this event. This can be an external link or a link to a content item on your site. In any case, use the full url, without the http:// prefix.
- Enter the full path to the event logo/icon/image, without the http:// prefix. Leave this empty for none.
- Save the changes and you`ll be taken back to the previous screen, where you can see the newly created event in the list.

When arriving to the next screen, make the necessary changes following the instructions provided for adding a new local event. Hit 'Save' to save changes or 'Cancel' to return to the local events list without saving the changes.
